I looked up again and saw a scroll flying through the air.1I looked up again and saw a flying scroll.
“What do you see?” the angel asked. “I see a flying scroll,” I replied. “It appears to be about 30 feet long and 15 feet wide. ”2"What do you see?" he asked me. "I see a flying scroll," I replied, "thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide."
Then he said to me, “This scroll contains the curse that is going out over the entire land. One side of the scroll says that those who steal will be banished from the land; the other side says that those who swear falsely will be banished from the land.3Then he said to me, "This is the curse that is going out over the whole land, for everyone who is a thief, contrary to what is written on one side, has gone unpunished, and everyone who swears falsely, contrary to what is written on the other side, has gone unpunished.
And this is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: I am sending this curse into the house of every thief and into the house of everyone who swears falsely using my name. And my curse will remain in that house and completely destroy it—even its timbers and stones.” A Woman in a Basket4I will send it out,"--this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies--"and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by my name. It will stay inside his house and destroy it along with its timbers and stones."
Then the angel who was talking with me came forward and said, “Look up and see what’s coming.”5Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, "Look up and see what this is that is approaching."
“What is it?” I asked. He replied, “It is a basket for measuring grain, and it’s filled with the sins of everyone throughout the land.”6So I asked, "What is it?" He responded, "It's a measuring basket that is approaching." And he continued, "This is their iniquity in all the land."
Then the heavy lead cover was lifted off the basket, and there was a woman sitting inside it.7Then a lead cover was lifted, and there was a woman sitting inside the basket.
The angel said, “The woman’s name is Wickedness,” and he pushed her back into the basket and closed the heavy lid again.8"This is Wickedness," he said. He shoved her down into the basket and pushed the lead weight over its opening.
Then I looked up and saw two women flying toward us, gliding on the wind. They had wings like a stork, and they picked up the basket and flew into the sky.9Then I looked up and saw two women approaching with the wind in their wings. Their wings were like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between earth and sky.
“Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel.10So I asked the angel who was speaking with me, "Where are they taking the basket?"
He replied, “To the land of Babylonia, where they will build a temple for the basket. And when the temple is ready, they will set the basket there on its pedestal.”11"To build a shrine for it in the land of Shinar," he told me. "When that is ready, the basket will be placed there on its pedestal."
