| 10For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: | 10For there are also many rebellious people, full of empty talk and deception, especially those from Judaism. |
| 11Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. | 11It is necessary to silence them; they overthrow whole households by teaching what they shouldn't in order to get money dishonestly. |

| 15Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. | 15To the pure, everything is pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; in fact, both their mind and conscience are defiled. |
| 16They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. | 16They profess to know God, but they deny Him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, and disqualified for any good work. |
