1If his offering is a fellowship sacrifice, and he is presenting an animal from the herd, whether male or female, he must present one without blemish before the LORD.1“If you present an animal from the herd as a peace offering to the LORD, it may be a male or a female, but it must have no defects.
2He is to lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance to the tent of meeting. Then Aaron's sons the priests will sprinkle the blood on all sides of the altar.2Lay your hand on the animal’s head, and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tabernacle. Then Aaron’s sons, the priests, will splatter its blood against all sides of the altar.
3He will present part of the fellowship sacrifice as a fire offering to the LORD: the fat surrounding the entrails, all the fat that is on the entrails, 3The priest must present part of this peace offering as a special gift to the LORD. This includes all the fat around the internal organs,
4and the two kidneys with the fat on them at the loins; he will also remove the fatty lobe of the liver with the kidneys. 4the two kidneys and the fat around them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver. These must be removed with the kidneys,
5Aaron's sons will burn it on the altar along with the burnt offering that is on the burning wood, a fire offering of a pleasing aroma to the LORD." 5and Aaron’s sons will burn them on top of the burnt offering on the wood burning on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
6If his offering as a fellowship sacrifice to the LORD is from the flock, he must present a male or female without blemish. 6“If you present an animal from the flock as a peace offering to the LORD, it may be a male or a female, but it must have no defects.
7If he is presenting a lamb for his offering, he is to present it before the LORD.7If you present a sheep as your offering, bring it to the LORD,
8He must lay his hand on the head of his offering, then slaughter it before the tent of meeting. Aaron's sons will sprinkle its blood on all sides of the altar. 8lay your hand on its head, and slaughter it in front of the Tabernacle. Aaron’s sons will then splatter the sheep’s blood against all sides of the altar.
9He will then present part of the fellowship sacrifice as a fire offering to the LORD consisting of its fat and the entire fat tail, which he is to remove close to the backbone. He will also remove the fat surrounding the entrails, all the fat on the entrails, 9The priest must present the fat of this peace offering as a special gift to the LORD. This includes the fat of the broad tail cut off near the backbone, all the fat around the internal organs,
10the two kidneys with the fat on them at the loins, and the fatty lobe of the liver above the kidneys. 10the two kidneys and the fat around them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver. These must be removed with the kidneys,
11Then the priest will burn the food on the altar, as a fire offering to the LORD." 11and the priest will burn them on the altar. It is a special gift of food presented to the LORD.
12If his offering is a goat, he is to present it before the LORD.12“If you present a goat as your offering, bring it to the LORD,
13He must lay his hand on its head and slaughter it before the tent of meeting. Aaron's sons will sprinkle its blood on all sides of the altar. 13lay your hand on its head, and slaughter it in front of the Tabernacle. Aaron’s sons will then splatter the goat’s blood against all sides of the altar.
14He will present part of his offering as a fire offering to the LORD: the fat surrounding the entrails, all the fat that is on the entrails, 14The priest must present part of this offering as a special gift to the LORD. This includes all the fat around the internal organs,
15and the two kidneys with the fat on them at the loins; he will also remove the fatty lobe of the liver with the kidneys. 15the two kidneys and the fat around them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver. These must be removed with the kidneys,
16Then the priest will burn the food on the altar, as a fire offering for a pleasing aroma." All fat belongs to the LORD.16and the priest will burn them on the altar. It is a special gift of food, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. All the fat belongs to the LORD.
17This is a permanent statute throughout your generations, wherever you live: you must not eat any fat or any blood." 17“You must never eat any fat or blood. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation, wherever you live.”
