2Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

3Should youⁱ lies make men hold their peace? and when youⁱ mock, shall no man make youⁱ ashamed?

4For youⁱ have said, My doctrine [is] pure, and I am clean in youⁱ eyes.

5But oh that God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] would speak, and open his lips against youⁱ;

6And that he would show youⁱ the secrets of wisdom, that [they are] double to that which is! Know therefore that God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] exacts of youⁱ [less] than yourⁱ iniquity [deserves].

7Can youⁱ by searching find out God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]? can youⁱ find out the Almighty’s limits?

8[It is] as high as heaven; what can youⁱ do? deeper than hell; what can youⁱ know?

9The measure thereof [is] longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

10If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

11For he knows vain men: he sees wickedness also; will he not then consider [it]?

12For vain man would be wise, though man be born [like] a wild ass's colt.

13If youⁱ prepare youⁱ heart, and stretch out youⁱ hands toward him;

14If iniquity [be] in youⁱ hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in youⁱ tabernacles.

15For then shall youⁱ lift up youⁱ face without spot; yes, youⁱ shall be steadfast, and shall not fear:

16Because youⁱ shall forget [youⁱ] misery, [and] remember [it] as waters [that] pass away:

17And [youⁱ] age shall be clearer than the noonday; youⁱ shall shine forth, youⁱ shall be as the morning.

18And youⁱ shall be secure, because there is hope; yes, youⁱ shall dig [about youⁱ, and] youⁱ shall take youⁱ rest in safety.

19Also youⁱ shall lie down, and none shall make [youⁱ] afraid; yes, many shall make suit unto youⁱ.

20But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope [shall be as] the giving up of the ghost.
