2 Samuel 22:5
"The waves of death overwhelmed me; floods of destruction swept over me.
He has thrown me into the mud. I'm nothing more than dust and ashes.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.
For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be sung to the tune "Lilies." Save me, O God, for the floodwaters are up to my neck.
Deeper and deeper I sink into the mire; I can't find a foothold. I am in deep water, and the floods overwhelm me.
Reach down from heaven and rescue me; rescue me from deep waters, from the power of my enemies.
So the officials took Jeremiah from his cell and lowered him by ropes into an empty cistern in the prison yard. It belonged to Malkijah, a member of the royal family. There was no water in the cistern, but there was a thick layer of mud at the bottom, and Jeremiah sank down into it.
