I will destroy your pagan shrines and knock down your places of worship. I will leave your lifeless corpses piled on top of your lifeless idols, and I will despise you.
But they are your people and your special possession, whom you brought out of Egypt by your great strength and powerful arm.'
"For the people of Israel belong to the LORD; Jacob is his special possession.
"The LORD saw this and drew back, provoked to anger by his own sons and daughters.
This made the LORD burn with anger against Israel, so he handed them over to raiders who stole their possessions. He turned them over to their enemies all around, and they were no longer able to resist them.
So 3,000 men of Judah went down to get Samson at the cave in the rock of Etam. They said to Samson, "Don't you realize the Philistines rule over us? What are you doing to us?" But Samson replied, "I only did to them what they did to me."
Save your people! Bless Israel, your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever.
