Young's Literal Translation
And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Put back the rod of Aaron, before the testimony, for a charge, for a sign to the sons of rebellion, and thou dost remove their murmurings from off me, and they do not die;'
Numbers 17:10 Parallel
CommentaryWesley's Notes on the Bible
17:10 To be kept for a token - it is probable, the buds and blossoms and fruit, all which could never have grown together, but by miracle, continued fresh, the same which produced them in a night preserving them for ages.
1 Corinthians 10:10
And don't grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death.
In that room were a gold incense altar and a wooden chest called the Ark of the Covenant, which was covered with gold on all sides. Inside the Ark were a gold jar containing manna, Aaron's staff that sprouted leaves, and the stone tablets of the covenant.
Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded Moses. He eventually placed it in the Ark of the Covenant--in front of the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant.
Place these staffs in the Tabernacle in front of the Ark containing the tablets of the Covenant, where I meet with you.
When Moses brought all the staffs out from the LORD's presence, he showed them to the people. Each man claimed his own staff.
So Moses did as the LORD commanded him.
So Moses did as he was told. He took the staff from the place where it was kept before the LORD.
