"If one of your fellow Israelites falls into poverty and cannot support himself, support him as you would a foreigner or a temporary resident and allow him to live with you.

"And the Redeemer Shall Come unto Zion, and unto them that Turn,"
"You must not mistreat or oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.
"If you lend money to any of my people who are in need, do not charge interest as a money lender would.
"But if there are any poor Israelites in your towns when you arrive in the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hard-hearted or tightfisted toward them.
"Do not charge interest on the loans you make to a fellow Israelite, whether you loan money, or food, or anything else.
"Never take advantage of poor and destitute laborers, whether they are fellow Israelites or foreigners living in your towns.
You must pay them their wages each day before sunset because they are poor and are counting on it. If you don't, they might cry out to the LORD against you, and it would be counted against you as sin.
About this time some of the men and their wives raised a cry of protest against their fellow Jews.
