He has sent us a mighty Savior from the royal line of his servant David,
But he was a prophet, and he knew God had promised with an oath that one of David's own descendants would sit on his throne.
"And it is one of King David's descendants, Jesus, who is God's promised Savior of Israel!
For God had promised to raise him from the dead, not leaving him to rot in the grave. He said, 'I will give you the sacred blessings I promised to David.'
Lord, where is your unfailing love? You promised it to David with a faithful pledge.
"Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.
