Then they began to spit in Jesus' face and beat him with their fists. And some slapped him,
And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it.
Then some of them began to spit at him, and they blindfolded him and beat him with their fists. "Prophesy to us," they jeered. And the guards slapped him as they took him away.
And they struck him on the head with a reed stick, spit on him, and dropped to their knees in mock worship.
The guards in charge of Jesus began mocking and beating him.
But the LORD said to Moses, "If her father had done nothing more than spit in her face, wouldn't she be defiled for seven days? So keep her outside the camp for seven days, and after that she may be accepted back."
People jeer and laugh at me. They slap my cheek in contempt. A mob gathers against me.
