"You are destroyed, Israel, because you are against me, against your helper.
King James Bible
O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
Darby Bible Translation
It is thy destruction, O Israel, that [thou art] against me, against thy help.
World English Bible
You are destroyed, Israel, because you are against me, against your help.

And I consume them there as a lioness, A beast of the field doth rend them.
Hosea 13:9 Parallel
CommentaryClarke's Commentary on the Bible
O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself - These evils come not by my immediate infliction; they are the consequences of thy own crimes. In the above terrifying figures of the ferocious beasts, the prophet only shows what they would meet with from the hand of the Assyrians in the war, the famine, and the captivity; God being represented as doing what he only permits to be done.
But in me is thine help - "Though thou hast destroyed thyself, yet in me alone can thy help be found" - Newcome. And others read, And who will help thee? reading מי mi, who, for בי bi, in me. Though this is countenanced by the Syriac, yet there is no evidence of it in any of the MSS. yet collated, nor do I think it to be the true reading.

'O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in Me is thine help.'--HOSEA xiii. 9 (A.V.). 'It is thy destruction, O Israel, that thou art against Me, against thy Help' (R.V.). These words are obscure by reason of their brevity. Literally they might be rendered, 'Thy destruction for, in, or against Me; in, or against thy Help.' Obviously, some words must be supplied to bring out any sense. Our Authorised Version has chosen the supplement 'is,' which fails to observe the second occurrence with 'thy …

A Prophet of Peace
The Quotation in Matt. Ii. 6.
"There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty.
Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights."
Have you not brought this on yourselves by forsaking the LORD your God when he led you in the way?
Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the LORD your God and have no awe of me," declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty.
"But you profane it by saying, 'The Lord's table is defiled,' and, 'Its food is contemptible.'
And you say, 'What a burden!' and you sniff at it contemptuously," says the LORD Almighty. "When you bring injured, lame or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands?" says the LORD.
