I have also spoken - I have used every means, and employed every method, to instruct and save you. I have sent prophets, who spake plainly, exhorting, warning, and beseeching you to return to me. They have had Divine visions, which they have declared and interpreted. 3. Parables and apt resemblances.

The Prophet Hosea.
2 Kings 17:13
The LORD warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers: "Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance with the entire Law that I commanded your ancestors to obey and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets."
From the time your ancestors left Egypt until now, day after day, again and again I sent you my servants the prophets.
"Son of man, set forth an allegory and tell it to the Israelites as a parable.
Then I said, "Sovereign LORD, they are saying of me, 'Isn't he just telling parables?'"
