Jeremiah 7:19 But am I the one they are provoking? declares the LORD. Are they not rather harming themselves, to their own shame? Am I the one they are hurting?" asks the LORD. "Most of all, they hurt themselves, to their own shame." Is it I whom they provoke? declares the LORD. Is it not themselves, to their own shame? "Do they spite Me?" declares the LORD. "Is it not themselves they spite, to their own shame?" Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? But are they really provoking Me?" This is the LORD's declaration. "Isn't it they themselves being provoked to disgrace?" Are they provoking me?" asks the LORD. "Is it not themselves, and to their own shame?" But I am not really the one being troubled!" says the LORD. "Rather they are bringing trouble on themselves to their own shame! They aren't really provoking me," declares the LORD. "But they are [harming] themselves to their own shame.
