1BUT of the depths have I cried to thee, O LORD, and thou hast heard my voice. 2Let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O LORD, who shall stand? 4Because forgiveness comes from thee, thou mayest be revered. 5I trust in the LORD, my soul waits for his word. 6I have waited for the LORD from the morning watch even until the night watch. 7Let Israel hope in the LORD; from him comes mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
