God's Mercy to Us

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
3At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.3For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.3For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.3For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.3For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.
4But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,4But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,4But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,4But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,4But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,5he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,5He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;5He saved us-- not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy -- through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,6whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,6whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;6He poured out this Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior

7so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.7so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.7so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.7That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.7so that, having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

Avoiding Divisions

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
9But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.9But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.9But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.9But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.9But avoid foolish debates, genealogies, quarrels, and disputes about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.
10Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.10As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him,10Reject a factious man after a first and second warning,10A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;10Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning,
11You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.11knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.11knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.11Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.11knowing that such a person is perverted and sins, being self-condemned.
