Wisdom 4:15
Good News Translation
that God is kind and merciful to his own people; he protects those whom he has chosen.

Yet the peoples saw and did not understand, or take such a thing to heart, that God’s grace and mercy are with his elect, and that he watches over his holy ones.

Others failed to understand that this is how God shows kindness and mercy and protects his holy people.
