Good News Translation
Tobias went in and told his father, "I have found an Israelite to travel with me." "Call the man in," Tobit replied. "I would like to know what family and tribe he belongs to, and whether he is a reliable traveling companion for you."

So Tobias went in to tell his father Tobit and said to him, “I have just found a man who is one of our own Israelite kindred!” He replied, “Call the man in, my son, so that I may learn about his family and to what tribe he belongs, and whether he is trustworthy enough to go with you.”

When Tobias returned home, he said to me, "Father, I have found an Israelite, and he is one of our relatives!" "Ask him to come here," I replied. "I want to know something about his family and tribe, so I can decide if he can be trusted to go with you to Rages."
