Good News Translation
Now the Assyrians are stronger than ever; they take pride in their cavalry and their infantry. They rely on their weapons, but they do not know that you, O Lord, are a warrior who ends war. The Lord is your name.

“Here now are the Assyrians, a greatly increased force, priding themselves in their horses and riders, boasting in the strength of their foot soldiers, and trusting in shield and spear, in bow and sling. They do not know that you are the Lord who crushes wars; the Lord is your name.

The Assyrian troops that are now attacking us are more powerful than ever. They are constantly bragging about their strong cavalry and mighty soldiers who trust in swords, shields, bows, and slings to win their wars. They don't realize that you are the Lord, a warrior who always wins.
