Judith 8:30
Good News Translation
But our people are dying of thirst. They forced us to say what we did and to make a solemn promise, which we cannot break.

But the people were so thirsty that they compelled us to do for them what we have promised, and made us take an oath that we cannot break.

But everyone in town is dying of thirst, and they begged us until we finally made them a solemn promise that we can't break.
