2 Maccabees 10:26
Good News Translation
and lay face downward on the steps of the altar, begging God to help them by fighting against their enemies, as he had promised in his Law.

Falling upon the steps before the altar, they implored him to be gracious to them and to be an enemy to their enemies and an adversary to their adversaries, as the law declares.

Then they lay face down on the steps leading to the altar and prayed, "Please be kind to us and wipe out our enemies, just as our sacred Scriptures promise."
