2 Maccabees 10:24
Good News Translation
Timothy, who had been defeated by the Jews once before, had gathered a large number of cavalry from Asia and a tremendous force of mercenary troops and was now advancing to take Judea by armed attack.

Now Timothy, who had been defeated by the Jews before, gathered a tremendous force of mercenaries and collected the cavalry from Asia in no small number. He came on, intending to take Judea by storm.

Someone named Timothy got together a powerful force of foreign soldiers, as well as a large number of cavalry from Asia. He then set out to invade Judea, even though he had already been defeated once before by the Jewish troops.
