Good News Translation
In the battle Bacchides was pressed so hard that all his plans came to nothing, and he was defeated.

They fought with Bacchides, and he was crushed by them. They pressed him very hard, for his plan and his expedition had been in vain.

In fact, they destroyed the entire army of Bacchides and ruined all of his plans for war.
