Clarke's Commentary on the BibleBut ye gave the Nazarites wine - This was expressly forbidden in the laws of their institution. See Numbers 6:1-3. Prophesy not - They would not worship God, and they would not hear the voice of his prophets. Treasury of Scripture Knowledge ye gave. Exodus 32:21-23 And Moses said to Aaron, What did this people to you, that you have brought so great a sin on them... wine. Numbers 6:3 He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink... and commanded.
