Strength

In the biblical context, strength is often depicted as a divine attribute and a gift from God to His people. It is both physical and spiritual, enabling believers to overcome challenges and fulfill God's purposes. The Bible frequently emphasizes that true strength comes from reliance on God rather than human might.

One of the most cited verses regarding strength is found in the book of Isaiah: "But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). This passage highlights the renewal of strength that comes from trusting in the Lord, suggesting that spiritual endurance is a result of divine empowerment.

The Psalms also frequently speak of God as the source of strength. Psalm 28:7 declares, "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart exults, and with my song I will thank Him" . Here, strength is associated with protection and trust, indicating that reliance on God brings both security and joy.

In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul speaks of strength in the context of spiritual warfare and perseverance. In Ephesians 6:10, he exhorts believers to "be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power" , urging them to put on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil. This strength is not self-derived but is a result of being in union with Christ.
