In Joshua 22, when a potential conflict arose between the tribes of Israel over an altar built by the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Phinehas led a delegation to investigate. His diplomatic approach helped to avert civil war and maintain unity among the tribes.

Later Life and Legacy

Phinehas's influence extended beyond his lifetime. He is mentioned in the Book of Judges as a priest during a time of national crisis (Judges 20:28).
