Every aspect of the human personality, including the spirit, was affected by the fall. At regeneration the human personality is transformed by the Holy Spirit.

The human spirit is directly created by God

Numbers 16:22 See also Isaiah 42:5; Zechariah 12:1; Hebrews 12:9 “human fathers” is literally “fathers of our flesh (bodies)”, i.e., there is an antithesis between those who are the fathers of people's bodies and God, who is the Father of their spirits. Thus bodies are derived from parents but souls from God.

The human spirit was affected by the fall
