During the night, God appeared to Solomon in a dream and said, "Ask for whatever you want Me to give you" (1 Kings 3:5). Solomon requested wisdom to govern the people effectively, acknowledging his own limitations and the vastness of the task before him. God was pleased with Solomon's request, as it demonstrated humility and a desire to serve the people justly. In response, God granted Solomon unparalleled wisdom and also bestowed upon him riches and honor (1 Kings 3:10-13).

Another instance of God's approval is seen in the life of Hannah, the mother of the prophet Samuel. Hannah was deeply distressed due to her inability to bear children. In her anguish, she prayed earnestly to the Lord, making a vow that if He granted her a son, she would dedicate him to the Lord's service all the days of his life (1 Samuel 1:10-11). God heard Hannah's heartfelt plea and granted her request, blessing her with a son, whom she named Samuel. Hannah's prayer and God's favorable response highlight the power of sincere supplication and the fulfillment of vows made to God.

The Israelites' request for a king is another significant event where God's approval is evident, albeit with a nuanced understanding. The people of Israel, desiring to be like other nations, asked the prophet Samuel to appoint a king to lead them. Although this request was seen as a rejection of God's direct rule, God instructed Samuel to heed their request and anoint Saul as king (1 Samuel 8:7-9). This instance illustrates that while God may grant requests that align with human desires, He also provides guidance and warnings about the potential consequences of such requests.

In the New Testament, the early church's experience in the Book of Acts provides further insight into God's approval of requests. After the ascension of Jesus, the apostles and other believers gathered in prayer, seeking guidance for the selection of a new apostle to replace Judas Iscariot. They prayed, "Lord, You know everyone's heart. Show us which of these two You have chosen" (Acts 1:24). God honored their request by guiding them to choose Matthias, demonstrating His involvement in the decision-making processes of the early church.
