ἀπεκδέχομαι; (imperfect ἀπεξεδεχομην); assiduously and patiently to wait for (cf. English wait it out): absolutely, 1 Peter 3:20 (Rec. ἐκδέχομαι); τί, Romans 8:19, 23, 25; 1 Corinthians 1:7; Galatians 5:5 (on this passage cf. ἐλπίς; at the end); with the accusative of a person, Christ in his return from heaven: Philippians 3:20; Hebrews 9:28.
