A QUICKENING BY GOD'S WORD YIELDS IMPERISHABLE MEMORIES. 1. God's Word effects a moral quickening. It is the sunbeam, the rain, the resurrection trumpet. 2. The greatest event in the history of souls is moral quickening. It is a birth, a resurrection, etc. 3. The greatest event is always the most memorable. (Homilist.)
