There must be in such a character sincerity. I mean there must be integrity in their first transactions with God. A shock of corn fully ripe reminds us of steadfastness. To be spiritually minded is also implied in a Christian's ripeness or fitness for glory. II. IN WHAT RESPECTS IS SUCH A GOOD OLD AGE DESIRABLE? There is nothing desirable in old age itself. 1. It is a proof of sincerity. 2. It gives opportunity for considerable growth in grace. 3. It recommends religion to others. 4. It tends to an extraordinary fitness for heaven.Such are some of the advantages of a religious old age. And this is a subject in which all are deeply concerned.
