It confirmed their belief in a future state. II. It taught them that there was a spiritual body. III. It revealed to them Christ's Divine character and mission. IV. It prepared them for coming trials. Sorrow often follows closely upon joy. The joy prepares us for the sorrow. 1. It was good to be there; it would not have been good to remain there. There was work to be done, sorrow to be lightened, sin to be grappled with and overcome. (F. J. A.)
