Isaiah 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, said the LORD… The thought of Isaiah 56:7 is here (ver. 23) expressed by a figure, which, understood literally, involves a physical impossibility; but the prophet cannot altogether emancipate himself from the forms of the Jewish economy, and clothes a spiritual truth in a garb which in strictness is too narrow for it (cf.
