Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For your is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 1. The evidence of all all-pervading and ever-present evil is irresistible. 2. If we cry for deliverance it is because we have a lingering recollection of a promise that there will be a Deliverer. 3. But God's children intelligently offer this prayer to the Divine Father; they feel that He is not the Author of evil. 4. As brethren we pray this petition: the successive generations have used it. 5.
