Psalm 108:1-13. This psalm is a compilation formed by combining the last five verses of Psalm 57 with the last eight verses of Psalm 60., the latter being itself a compilation. It is ascribed to David because the original passages both occur in psalms ascribed to him. But Bishop Perowne thinks that some later poet probably adapted them to circumstances of his own time; possibly wishing thus to commemorate some victory over Edom or Philistia.
