1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not… In Scripture, the book of life, the death of the saints is called a "sleep." It is observable how the apostle varies the expression — Jesus died, and the saints sleep in Him; He sustained death with all its terrors, that it might be a calm sleep to His people.
