A Psalm of David 1Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2Blessed is the man whom the LORD has cleared of his guilt, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3When I failed to confess my sins, my body wasted away as I groaned in pain all the day long. 4For day and night Your hand of discipline was heavy upon me; my strength dried up like the drought of summer. Selah. 5Then I acknowledged my sin to You, and stopped hiding my iniquity from You. I said, “I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD”; and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah. 6For this reason shall everyone that is faithful pray unto You while You may be found; surely, when the flood waters rise, they shall not reach them. 7You are my hiding place; You shall protect me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will keep My eye on you and guide you. 9Do not be like the horse, or the mule, that has no understanding, and needs a bridle and bit in its mouth to control it. 10Many are the woes of the wicked; but mercy and lovingkindness shall surround him who trusts in the LORD. 11Be glad, and rejoice in the LORD; shout for joy, all you that are righteous in heart.
