10 On the south side, the divisions of Reuben (behold a son) are to camp under their standard: The leader of the Reubenites is Elizur (my God is a rock) son of Shedeur (darter of light), 11 and his division numbers 46,500. 12 The tribe of Simeon (heard) will camp next to it. The leader of the Simeonites is Shelumiel (friend of God) son of Zurishaddai (my rock is almighty), 13 and his division numbers 59,300. 14 Next will be the tribe of Gad (troop). The leader of the Gadites is Eliasaph (God has added) son of Deuel [Reuel], 15 and his division numbers 45,650. 16 The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Reuben (behold a son) is 151,450; they shall set out second.
