2 Therefore when you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, just as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the market places, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, that they have already received their reward. 3 But when you give alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand is doing; 4 So that your alms may be done secretly, and your Father who sees in secret, shall himself reward you openly.
