18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee (circuit), He saw two brothers, Simon (hearing) called Peter (rock) and his brother Andrew (manly). They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow Me, Jesus said, “and I will make you⁺ fishers of men. 20 And at once they left their nets and followed Him. 21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James (supplanter / follower) son of Zebedee (YHWH has given) and his brother John (YHWH is gracious). They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father {patera} and followed Him. 23 Jesus went throughout Galilee (circuit), teaching {didaskōn} in their synagogues, preaching the gospel (good news) of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 News about Him spread all over Syria, and people brought to Him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering acute pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and He healed them. 25 Large crowds followed Him, having come from Galilee (circuit), the Decapolis (the Ten Cities), Jerusalem (city of peace), Judea (land of praise), and beyond the Jordan (flowing down).
