36 Then Jesus comes with them to a place called Gethsemane, and He says to the disciples, “Sit here until, having gone away over there, I shall pray.” 37 And having taken with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He says to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch with Me.” 39 And having gone forward a little, He fell upon His face, praying and saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You.” 40 And He comes to the disciples and finds them sleeping. And He says to Peter, “So, were you? not able to watch with Me one hour? 41 Watch and pray so that you? might not enter into temptation. the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh weak.” 42 Again, for a second time, having gone away, He prayed, saying, “My Father, if this is not possible to pass unless I drink it, Your will be done.” 43 And having come again, He found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. 44 And having left them again, having gone away, He prayed for the third time, having said the same thing again. 45 Then He comes to the disciples and says to them, “Sleep and take your? rest later on. Behold, the hour has drawn near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise up, let us go! Behold, he who is betraying Me has drawn near!” Matthew 26:36-46, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
