And it came to pass, when Jesus finished commanding His twelve disciples, that He departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities.

And John, having heard in the prison the works of the Christ, having sent through his disciples,

said to Him, “Are You the coming One, or do we look for another?”

And answering, Jesus said to them, “Having gone, report to John what you? hear and see:

The blind receive sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear and the dead are raised and the poor have good news proclaimed.

And blessed is the one who shall not be caused to stumble in Me.”

And as these are going, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you? go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

But what did you? go out to see? A man having been dressed in soft garments? Behold, those wearing soft garments are in the houses of kings.

But what did you? go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you?, and one more than a prophet.

This is he about whom it has been written: ‘Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You.’

Truly I say to you?, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.
