1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God. 2 Just as it has been written in Isaiah the prophet: “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way.” 3 “A voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight His paths.’” 4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance unto forgiveness of sins. 5 And all the region of Judea and all those of Jerusalem were going out to him, and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. 6 And John was clothed in camel’s hair, and a belt of leather was around his waist, and he is eating locusts and wild honey.
