13 When daylight came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also designated as apostles (sent ones):

14 Simon (hearing), whom He named Peter (rock), and his brother Andrew (manly); James (supplanter / follower) and John (YHWH is gracious); Philip (friend of horses) and Bartholomew (son of Talmai);

15 Matthew (Gift of YHWH) and Thomas (twin); James (supplanter / follower) son of Alphaeus (exchange) and Simon (hearing) called the Zealot;

16 Judas son of James (supplanter / follower), and Judas (praise) Iscariot, who became a traitor.
