17 they delivered to him the book of the prophet Esaias, and upon opening the book, that passage occurr'd, where it is written, 18 "the spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 to proclaim the favourable year of the Lord." 20 then he closed the book, and returning it to the minister, he sat down: and as the eyes of the whole synagogue were fix'd with attention upon him, Luke 4:17-20, Mace New Testament.
