16 And He came into Nazareth, where He was brought up: and according to the custom to Him, He came into the synagogue on the Sabbath-day, and stood up to read. 17 And the Book of Isaiah the prophet was given to Him; and having opened the book, He found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor: hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, and to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And having closed the book, and giving it back to the officer, He sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on Him. 21 And He began to say to them; This day has this Scripture been fulfilled in your ears.
