Therefore Pilate entered again into the Praetorium, and he called Jesus and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

Jesus answered, “Do you say this from yourself, or did others say it to you concerning Me?”

Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your nation and the chief priests delivered You up to me. What did You do?”

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world; if My kingdom were of this world, My attendants would fight so that I would not be delivered up to the Jews. But now My kingdom is not from here.”

Therefore Pilate said to Him, “Then You are a king!” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, so that I may testify to the truth. Everyone being of the truth hears My voice.”

Pilate says to Him, “What is truth?” And having said this, he went out again to the Jews and says to them, “I find no guilt in Him.

But it is your? custom that I should release to you? one at the Passover; therefore do you? wish that I should release to you? the King of the Jews?”

Then they cried out again, saying, “Not this one, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.
