3 “May the day perish on which I was born, and the night that one said, ‘A male child has been conceived.’ 4 That day—may it be darkness; let not God seek it above, nor let light shine upon it. 5 Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it; may a cloud dwell over it; let the blackness of the day terrify it. 6 That night—let darkness take it! Let it not it rejoice among the days of the year; into the number of the months let it not come. 7 Behold, that night—may it be barren, let no joyful shout come into it. 8 May they curse it, those cursing the day, those ready to rouse Leviathan. 9 May the stars of its morning light be dark; may it look for light and there be none, and do not let it see the eyelids of the dawn; 10 for it did not shut the doors of my womb, and hide trouble from my eyes.
