1 THEN Zophar, the Naamathite, answered and said, 2 Therefore my discipline has caused me to discern, and for my help it has remained with me. 3 I will make you hear the instruction of my discipline, and the spirit of my understanding will cause me to answer. 4 This I know from of old, since man was created upon the earth, 5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless but for a moment. 6 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens and his head reach to the clouds, 7 Yet he shall perish for ever like a whirlwind; those who have seen him shall say, Where is he? 8 He shall fly away like a dream, and shall not be found; yea, he shall be chased away like a vision of the night. 9 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall they see his place again.
