3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with weakness; and like one from whom they hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely, our sicknesses He has lifted, and our sorrows, He has borne them; and we considered Him stricken—struck by God and afflicted. 5 And he was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes there is healing for us. 6 We all like sheep have gone astray, we have turned, each man to his own way; and YHWH has placed on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and he was afflicted, and he did not open his mouth; like a lamb led to the slaughter, and like a sheep before the faces of her shearers is silent, so He did not open his mouth.
