1 FOR every high priest chosen from among men is ordained on behalf of men about things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: 2 He is one who can humble himself and have compassion on those who are ignorant and go astray: for he himself also is subject to weaknesses. 3 Because of these, he is obliged, just as he offers sacrifices for the people, likewise to offer for himself on account of his own sins.
